When a title agent has a file that requires substantial curative work, the time spent before closing protects you, the consumer. A standard file from opening to final policy issuance takes 22 work hours. If there is a difficult file the time to close a file takes 45 hours according to a third-party study. Title issues requiring curative work can be complicated and a knowledgeable title agent protects you, the consumer.
